Protecting Election Integrity & Trust
- Successfully administered:
- 2024 Presidential Primary
- 2025 General Election
- 2025 Statewide Special Election
- Four Special Elections:
- Orinda Union School District (2023)
- SRUSD (May 2024)
- AUHSD (May 2025)
- Martinez Unified Trustee (June 2025)
- Oversaw a 2024 public Trust in Elections education campaign using private grant funding to highlight security measures protecting local elections.
- Helped set national standards for non-partisan election excellence through participation in the U.S. Alliance for Elections Excellence.
Expanding Access to the Ballot
- Expanded bilingual outreach through Measure X, funding two Bilingual Outreach Specialists.
- Launched a successful pilot program registering eligible voters in Contra Costa’s three jails.
- Started a monthly newsletter for registered voters to provide timely, non-partisan voting information.
- Expanded outreach to high schools countywide during the twice-yearly California High School Voter Education Weeks in September and April which has driven a significant increase in the numbers of 16- and 17-year-old Contra Costans pre-registered to vote.
Strengthening the Office & Customer Service
- Prioritized the health and well-being of 74 staff members to support excellence and strong customer service.
- Continued and expanded the popular Destination Weddings program, offering affordable ceremonies at iconic locations including:
- Summit of Mount Diablo
- COBRA Experience Museum
- Port Costa School
- Planned and hosted the 2025 California Association of Clerks and Elections Officials (CACEO) Conference in San Ramon.
Ensuring Equality
- Partnered with the University of Minnesota's Mapping Prejudice Project and hundreds of community volunteers to implement AB1466 to identify and redact illegal racial restrictive covenants in the public record which will result in a map that will demonstrate the history of housing discrimination.
- Collaborating with the Directors of the Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice to support their initiatives across the Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department,
- Co-chaired the 2026 Board of Supervisors Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration.
